About me
I am Hesham Elmahdy. I wrote my first program in 1984, and I have worked full time in the software industry since 1992.
Most of those years were spent in the Gulf. I worked on core banking and payments systems for banks in Bahrain, Qatar, the wider Gulf, Iraq and the Levant. Later I led business-to-business sales teams, and then moved into enterprise resource planning and digital transformation.
Today I am a co-founder of OdooTec, an Odoo implementation partner registered in Saudi Arabia, where I lead strategy and transformation. My current work is building AI agents: for delivery work inside the company, and for running my own working day.
I hold a degree in computer science and an MBA. I live in Cairo for most of the year, and in Canada for part of it.
This site is where I answer, in plain words, the questions I hear from leaders who are deciding whether and how to build an AI agent.
